NEW Artist: Francis Corben

Francesco was born in Rome on May 5, 1982 from Italian father and
Russian mother.....

He lived in Rome for his first 2 years and he went to stay in a town
near Rome; Cerveteri the ancient etrurian city.....

After an happy childhood and after the middle school, he displayed a certain confidence with
technologic stuff, most with computers... wich years ago were not so powerful..
....

He started to study Electronics and Telecomunications when he has been
introduced in music by a friend who convinced him to buy an old japanese Fender
Stratocaster. He discovered the pleasure to hear the sound coming from that
instrument, and from his hand also. After the school he started to work as an
electronic technician, but without a contract he had to go in the army, when in
Italy were mandatory.....

Back from the army he found a job in the Information Technology. He
studied to take several certifications to become a Network Engineer with
success.....

He played the guitar for 5 years, until he discovered the electronic
music. An old friend brought 2 Korg electribe sinthesizers with a small
mixer... love at first sight.......

He starded messing with knobs and fader, button, leds, displays... ....

Francesco loves music and technologic stuff, what could he find better
than electronic music?....

He purchased his first synthesizer, an Access Virus A, and after a some
months he brought a Clavia Nord Lead 2. With an sequencer, a Yamaha RM1x, he
started to make some music and record it on the Computer.....

He want to know more on mixing music and make his sound better. So, he
spent about 2 years studing the mixing concepts and tricks. In the meanwhile,
he attended raves, concerts and discos; listened ALL electronic stuff he can
find and made is own point of view about electronic music.....

At the beginning of 2008 he decided to create a "serious"
personal studio. He brought a new configuration for his computer, 2 studio
monitors, a midi keyboard/controller, a good audio interface and studio
headphones. The software he found ideal is Reason 4 and Sound Forge 9... he
brought a LOT of reason refills spendig a LOT of his money and then he brought
a Mac with an external audio card and a DJ Controller with Traktor DJ studio 3.
He started to buy stuff on Beatport and make some mixes, just for fun and make
some confidence with club music. At this point Francesco found his style...
moving from progressive house to tech-house/minimal. He tries to keep his
musicality high, without creating a track which will only be a sequence of samples
and effects. He knows this is the hardest way to make electronic music, but he
found that he can't be separated from this... minimal cannot be only few and
small sounds, but is also a music, reduced to the minimum... but always
music...
